South Tyrol Archeological Museum

Since its discovery in 1991, Ötzi has provided many research disciplines, both naturalistic and humanistic, with new information on the life of prehistoric man. What was the cause of death? What was his state of health? What was his equipment and clothing? And many other interesting facts about the Iceman will be told during the guided museum tour.

Messner Mountain Museum

The MMM Firmian in Sigmundskron Castle addresses the subject of man’s encounter with the mountains. In a setting dominated by the various peaks between the Schlern and the Texel range, the museum is spacious enough to be organized as an itinerary between the various works of art, installations and relics that it houses.

Point of departure: A private coach service will bring you to the MMM Firmian with departure at 2.30 pm at the main entrance of unibz, Campus Bozen-Bolzano. The guided tour will start at 3.00 pm.

Runkelstein Castle

Runkelstein Castle encloses the largest cycle of secular frescoes dating back to the Middle Ages. Its representation of medieval society and its strategic location made it one of the foremost attractions of our region.

Guided tour in English, duration 50 minutes.

Point of departure: At 2.00 pm at the main entrance of unibz, Campus Bozen-Bolzano in order to take the city bus (SASA) to the castle. The guided tour will start at 3.00 pm.

Hopfen & Co

Taste the different types of beer that Hopfen & Co. produces itself and take part in a guided tour of the brewery with the master brewer.

Tasting in German and Italian, duration about 2 hours and a half.

Guided tour through the historic center of Bozen-Bolzano and discover the most famous sights. The tour takes you through the old town and the medieval arcades. A local guide will tell you interesting facts about the history of Bozen-Bolzano’s origins and draw your attention to art-historical testimonies. During the subsequent visit to a traditional inn, you will learn about the special features of traditional speck production during a tasting.

Coffee tasting and roastery tour at Kuntrawant in Lana

We show where coffee comes from, shed light on its origins, cultivation and harvesting, the various preparations and, of course, we explain how coffee is roasted.

Guided tour in German, duration 1 hour.

Point of departure: A private coach service will bring you to Kuntrawant with departure at 3.00 pm at the main entrance of unibz, Campus Bozen-Bolzano. First group guided tour at 3.30 pm and second group guided tour at 4.40 pm. During the period when no guided tour is offered, a table in the Kuntrawant’s coffee bar is reserved for our alumni.

Excursion Caldera of Bozen – Bolzano

The Oswald Promenade lies on the slope of an ancient caldera. Discover the traces of this enormous volcanic event that took over the entire Bolzano basin 280 million years ago. A current research project on this volcano is bringing further insights to light.

Guided tour for one group in Italian and for the other one in German, duration 2 hours for each group.

Point of departure: First group at 2.45 pm (Italian guide) and second group at 3.15 pm (German guide) at the main entrance of unibz, Campus Bozen-Bolzano. The guided tour will start for the first group at 3.00 pm (Italian guide) and for the second group at 3.30 pm (German guide).

Alternative programme in case of bad weather:

Visit to the Naturmuseum Südtirol-Museo Scienze Naturali Alto Adige in Bozen-Bolzano.

Visit the exhibition of the geological development of the typical landscapes of South Tyrol and its ecosystems.

Guided tour for one group in Italian and for the other one in German, duration 1 hour and a half.
